Wine, Women and Cats

A light-hearted print: five girls, and some of life's essentials! The cat on the top sticks out of the main rectangular outline of the actual etching plate, which is quite fun, and something I should do more often...

This etching I made just before Christmas 2011. The design for this was, surprisingly, developed from a couple of designs I had drawn for Christmas baubles: I made a series of baubles containing drawings on strips of Mylar trapped inside clear glass baubles and, since I tend to such things naturally, the drawings contained demons, fairies, masked revellers, and even the occasional angel. And then a friend asked me for some featuring cats, with girls and glasses of wine, as a suitable present for a friend of hers. And so I worked out a couple of little designs, and got quite fond of them and decided they would make a suitable subject for an etching print.
